Temple Ami Shalom is an egalitarian synagogue, with men and
women sharing equally in all parts of the service. We sing and
pray in both Hebrew and English as we work together to create
services which are meaningful for all participants. Every
service is open to children of all ages so please bring the
whole family!
Shabbat:
Temple Ami Shalom holds
regular Friday night and Shabbat morning services. Friday night
services range from a traditional Kabbalat Shabbat/Ma’ariv
service to our song-filled Musical Shabbat and oneg. We also
have a monthly potluck dinner and services held in a
congregant’s home. We currently use Likrat Shabbat to
guide our prayers on Friday nights.
Friday night start times:
1st Friday:
6:30pm. Shabbat potluck dinner, followed by service at 7:30pm
2nd/3rd Friday:
7:30pm. Traditional service.
4th Friday:
7:30pm. Musical Shabbat.
5th
Friday: 7:30pm. Traditional service.
Saturday morning services are
held in our main sanctuary, beginning with Shacharit at 9:30am.
Twice a month, Rabbi Michael Barclay leads the congregation in
prayer, with
members of the congregation leading the other services. We daven
from Siddur Hadash and utilize the Etz Hayim
Chumash for our Torah service. All services are followed by a
kiddush lunch at approximately 12:45pm, with subsequent Torah
study with Rabbi Barclay on the Shabbat afternoons he is with
us. |
