From the President February / March 2006
FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Friends:
For anyone who has been on the temple property in the last several months, it is quite evident that our grounds and building are getting better care than at almost any time in the past. The reason for this is Alberto & Isabel (the new custodians). They treat Temple Ami Shalom as their home.
Norman Richman our house chairman also deserves a great deal of credit for his attention to detail and hard work.
The problem we are facing is that our building and property are over fifty years old and is in need of repair in so many areas. Because of a tight financial situation we are limited as to what repairs can be made. We are doing the best we can with the limited funds available.
We are all inundated with letters and phone calls from charities through the year. I am asking each of you to try to make Temple Ami Shalom your charity of choice for this year, over and above your dues. I am asking each of you to give a little more than what you may have obligated yourself to when the temple year began. If you have paid up your dues, try to find something extra.
A few years ago, we would print a wish list in the bulletin, of projects that needed funding. Until we announce another list, please send us a check marked “Wish List”. The money will go to a good cause. If you wish to discuss a project that you would like to fund, please feel free to call me. We need your help.
Sincerely,
Lew Rader
