Dear Friends,

This month I write to you about several very nice important events which have occurred since my article in the previous bulletin.

First I want to personally thank Dorothy Grumet as well as Jack, David, and Matthew Goodrich, Vicky, Aimee, Julie, Carrie, Hanah, Alex, and Greg Goodrich for the generous donations made in honor of Alex Goodrich, Sanford Grument, Jack and Anna Tomcha, Evelyn and Rose Tomcha.  These donations made painting the entire exterior of our shul a reality.  I am sure that if you have not been by the shul recently, you remember what it looked like during the High Holy Days, drab and faded with paint cracking and pealing.   If you have been by in the last month or so, I know you will agree that the fresh coat of paint has made a huge improvement in the appearance of our home.  I also which to extend thanks from the entire board of directors as well as the membership.  Please join me in extending a hearty thank you to all our donors.

The other very important news is that as your president, representing your board of directors, I signed a new contract with Rabbi Rick Brody which insures the stability of our rabbinic leadership beyond the two years of his original contract.  Rabbi Rick’s original contract and our relationship with him would have ended in June of 2007.  Now with this new agreement ready to come into affect, we will have a stable rabbinic relationship in place well beyond that time.  I hope that you feel as I do, that Rabbi Rick has been good for us and our shul, and that we will continue to benefit from his involvement in our shul and our lives.

Please take a look at the pictures from our recent Purim festivities.  My daughter and I spent a fair amount of time looking through about 100 pictures I took that evening.  If you want to see the rest of them please let me know, and I apologize in advance for anyone who did not appear in the bulletin.  I will print some of them so they will appear on the bulletin board.  This year like last, the event was well attended.  This year the music was well received and the environment alive and full of fun.  If you were unable to make it, you were missed, and we look forward to seeing you at future events.

Finally, please let me know any thoughts you have regarding what the shul is doing right or wrong.  Your board and I, along with the Rabbi are always interested in what congregants are think and where possible will take action to make improvements .

Shalom,
